Menu Math: Real Life Application

I want my students to be motivated and excited about their learning.  I think that it is safe to say that this is how most teachers feel.  I also want student work to be of value....I strong dislike "busy work."  I set out to create some resources that bundled the idea of real-world skills with motivating and interesting math practice.  I wanted to create something that my students would benefit from and something that was easy to differentiate.  I also wanted to have something that worked in a variety of different setting: small group, whole group, independent, centers...I wanted to get the most bang for my buck!   It was with this in mind that I created was my MENU MATH bundle
This bundle includes addition, subtraction, & multiplication
skills for students to practice their skills in a meaningful way.   I use this regularly in my classroom! It includes a fun and colorful "menu" with a variety of different food items listed. Students use the menu to answer a variety of different questions/math problems. My students are SO motivated by Menu Math and it teaches them valuable "real world" math skills. I have had students come in to school after this unit and tell me that they did menu math when their family went out to dinner at a restaurant.

-Finding items on the Menu
